Cookies and privacy

The exact list of what we store in your browser, what it is for and how long it stays there — including the option to change your decision at any time.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

The legally binding version is the detailed Slovak text. This translation is provided for information only and has not been officially certified — in case of any discrepancy, the Slovak version prevails.

You can change your cookie decision at any time.

1. What cookies are and what else we store

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and reads again on your next visit. It lets the site remember something — your chosen language, for example, or that you are signed in.

Besides cookies we also use browser storage. The law treats it the same way as cookies, because it too stores information on your device — so we list both together. The tables below give the purpose, type and duration of each item.

2. The rules we follow

  • Under Section 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on electronic communications, we may store information on your device or access it only with your demonstrable consent. The exception is files technically necessary to transmit a message or to provide the service you requested — those require no consent.
  • Since 1 February 2022 browser settings no longer count as consent. That is why we have a banner that actually asks you.
  • Where the stored data allows conclusions about a specific person, it is also processing of personal data under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). The legal basis is your consent for analytics (Art. 6(1)(a)), and performance of the contract plus our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website for the necessary files (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
  • Supervision: the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services of the Slovak Republic for storing information on devices (www.teleoff.gov.sk), and the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection for personal data (www.dataprotection.gov.sk).
  • The controller is Rival Slovakia s. r. o., company ID 54 281 067 — full details and contacts are in Article 12 and in the Privacy Policy: /gdpr

3. How we handle your consent

  • On your first visit a banner appears with two equally prominent buttons — “Necessary only” and “Accept all”. Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting; it is not hidden one level deeper.
  • Consent is granular: under “Manage” you can enable analytics and marketing files separately. Necessary files cannot be switched off — the site does not work without them.
  • Until you give consent, no analytics or marketing script runs at all — this is not merely a toggle in the interface. Google Analytics is not even inserted into the page until you click consent.
  • There is no cookie wall — the content, the price list and the booking flow all work without you allowing anything.
  • We store your decision in your browser itself, together with the date, so that we do not ask again and can demonstrate what you chose. We do not send it to our server and do not link it to your account.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time using the “Change decision” button at the top of this page. Withdrawal applies going forward; analytics cookies already stored can be deleted in your browser as described in Article 10.
  • Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it (Art. 7(3) GDPR) and has no adverse consequences for you.

4. Necessary — the site does not work without them

Always active

These files provide the basics: signing in, remembering your language, keeping an unfinished booking and recording your cookie decision. They require no consent, because without them we could not provide the service you requested.

Remembering the light or dark appearance and dismissed noticesbrowser storageUntil deleted

5. Analytics — only with your consent

Optional

We use Google Analytics 4. It is activated solely after you consent to analytics cookies; without that the script is not inserted into the page at all and nothing is sent.

We measure traffic and how you move around the site — which vehicles people open, where in the booking flow they drop off, whether they reach the end. It serves to improve the website, not to target advertising.

IP addresses are sent in truncated form, so Google does not receive your full IP.

  • The recipient is Google Ireland Limited; processing may also take place in the USA — Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses applied in addition.
  • You can refuse analytics in the banner, withdraw consent with the button above, or block it with the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

6. Marketing — none at present

Optional
  • We currently use no advertising or retargeting files — we keep the category in the banner in case we add them in the future.
  • If we do add them, they will run only after your consent and we will update this document before anything is deployed. Anyone who has already decided will see the banner again.

7. What you will not find on this site

We do not use the following technologies at all — not “not yet”, but not a single script in the page:

  • No advertising pixels and no retargeting.
  • No screen or mouse recording (heatmaps, session recording).
  • No device fingerprinting and no circumvention of a refused consent.
  • Fonts and icons are served from our own domain — loading the page sends no request to outside servers.
  • The route map is our own graphic, not an embedded third-party map with its own tracking.
  • Apart from the analytics described in Article 5 we store no third-party files on your device.

8. Third parties and data transfers

We use suppliers that come into contact with your device or your data in order to run the site. Their roles are below. A full list of recipients of personal data, including legal bases, is in the Privacy Policy: /gdpr

  • Hosting provider — runs the website and keeps technical request logs (IP address, time, page address). It stores nothing on your device.
  • Analytics provider — Google Ireland Limited, and only after your consent (Article 5). Processing may also take place in the USA under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
  • Payment gateway — card payment takes place by redirect to its secure page. Its files are stored on its domain, not ours, and are governed by its policies.
  • E-mail and SMS providers — they process the content of messages we send you; they have nothing to do with cookies on the site.

9. How long it stays on your device

  • The duration of each item is in the tables in Articles 4 and 5. The longest-lived are the analytics cookies — 2 years from your last visit.
  • An unfinished booking disappears when you close the browser tab.
  • Other items stored in the browser have no automatic expiry — they remain until you or we delete them (for example by withdrawing consent).
  • The record of your decision is kept only in your browser. If you clear your browsing data it disappears too, and the banner will appear again.

10. How to delete or block cookies

Besides the button on this page you have full control in your browser. Clearing browsing data also removes our record of your consent, so the banner will appear again.

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data. For a single site: the icon next to the address → Cookies and site data.
  • Safari (Mac): Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data. iPhone: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data.
  • You can also set your browser to block cookies up front or delete them on exit. Necessary files will then stop working — the site will not remember your language or keep you signed in.
  • A private window is a one-off solution: everything stored is deleted when you close it.

11. What happens if you refuse

  • The site works normally — browsing vehicles, the price list, booking and the customer account are all unrestricted.
  • We will not see how you moved around the site; your visit will not enter our statistics.
  • You lose no discount, no feature and no faster handling — we do not penalise a refusal.
  • The banner will ask again only if you clear your browsing data, or if we add a new category of files.

12. Your rights, contact and changes to this document

  • You have the right of access, rectification and erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, the right to object and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Exercising them is free of charge and we will handle it within one month — details and the procedure are in the Privacy Policy: /gdpr
  • Contact: info@pozicauto.sk or in writing to the registered seat, Rival Slovakia s. r. o., Doležalova 15C, 821 04 Bratislava – Ružinov, Slovak Republic.
  • If you believe we process data unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection; complaints about storing cookies are handled by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services.
  • We update this document whenever we add, change or remove a file. The date of the last update is shown in the page header; if categories change, the banner will appear again.
